Newcastle Committee advised a very successful luncheon was held at Cardiff RSL on 12 May, with a reasonably good turn-out of 30, and everyone there seemed to enjoy what was on offer. It was great to see our mates from The Illawarra who made the trek north. Phil or course was in form, getting ready for his 75th birthday next Sunday. Ken Dighton splashed-out and shouted wife Lindy a lunch for their 53rd wedding anniversary (12th May 1969). All-in-all a good get-together.Missing from photos taken is Cheryl Richardson who left a little earlier – husband Jim is not well, and he extended his apologies for not being able to come along.Cheryl once again did an excellent job in organising lucky-seat prizes (a tradition at Newcastle lunches). The gathering took a moment to remember our colleague John Penn who passed away a few weeks ago.Overall, a very enjoyable luncheon & Newcastle look forward to another one later in the year.
