After postponement of the lunch initially set down for 22nd May owing to a spate of particularly bad weather, twenty-six members gathered on 5th June at Cardiff RSL to keep the tradition alive. It was a quite nice day in Newcastle, pleasant in the sun and definitely no rain! Members once again enjoyed the extensive and plentiful buffet. You would be hard to please if there was nothing available to suit your taste. Some people even had dessert!!
We received apologies from Graeme and Judith Bool, Alan Brewer, Keith Crawford, Doug Moss, Paul Jacka, Geoff Wright, and Wal Hardy. As it happened, Wal did not get the message about the postponement of the 22nd of June event and actually travelled up to Newcastle on that day. He thought (rightfully) that two trips to Newcastle in the space of a few weeks was a bit much so decided to give us a miss this time. We missed your cheery face Wal.
Our local chiefs Ron Welsh and Geoff Boyton extended a warm welcome to all, and Sydney rep., Ken Byatt, said a few words on behalf of the NSW ANZROC Committee. The popular lucky seat prizes were well received (by those whose seats were lucky!!), and we thank Cheryl Richardson for again organising this.
Our next outing this year is scheduled for Thursday November 20th, and we will promote this closer to that date - please put it on your calendar. We look forward to seeing you then. In the meantime, keep smiling.
